To people who once new @r_starlight_en you would know how detailed this would be. This blog contains screenshots from all present PVs for the anime. Also, I purposely left a few details out so that everyone would still have a lot to enjoy for the actual anime airing.

Episode 1 starts with a Mujica event. Doloris sat lifeless in her center chair as everyone crowded around her. Amoris offers to wake her up but Timoris says that it could break her soul. Oblivionis says that they should wait for the full moon as come. Doloris awakens with her new soul, and they perform a long version of KiLL KiSS.

This is exactly the same length they did for 4th Adventus. Not sure if it’s the full song, felt a little short personally speaking.

The live finishes, and they almost immediately leave for an interview that starts in 5 minutes. Nyamu worries about her make up.

Interview happens, Mortis is stunned and can’t say anything. The band talks about their upcoming Budoukan live. Nyamu was about to remove her mask but Sakiko warns her not to until they are in the dressing room. Nyamu complains that she’s too strict and that “she’s done” with all the charades. Sakiko said that they must be careful, because she now owns all of their lives. That Ave Mujica is a project that will be for their whole lives. Uika looks at Sakiko happily. Sakiko tells Nyamu that removing the mask must inly happen at the peak of their popularity, at the best possible timing.

Uika and Sakiko walk home, Uika talks about how Sakiko valued Ave Mujica. Sakiko asks if it really was okay to have her in the band. Uika says it’s totally fine, because it’s a good change of pace for her.

Uika says she’s happy because her dream of being with Saki-chan forever has come true. There’s also a flashback to MyGO anime ep 8 where Sakiko invites her to the band, and Uika answers with “Mm. I got it, I’ll join.” And that she will do anything Saki-chan asks her off.

Sakiko is moved, “Uika…” until she gets a phone call from Akabane Police Station. Their ‘date’ was cut off short and Sakiko leaves a sad Uika who asked if it was “Work”.

Her kuso oyaji (father) was apprehended loitering around the area, and Sakiko went to pay the 1213yen (I counted when I watched and it stayed, sorry w) bail to get him out. The two of them walk home, father gives up on the middle and crouches. Saying he can’t do it anymore, Sakiko is frustrated and takes his arm and drags him home back to his bed. The house is messy, and tons of new beer cans were cleaned up.

Sakiko then returns to her digital piano as she had to create 4 more songs for their tour and she needs to add music to Uika’s lyrics. She puts on her headphones, annoyed as her father grumbles in the bg.

Flash back to when she was playing piano as a child, her mom Togawa Mizuho (CV: Ohara Sayaka) is so proud of her. Mizuho says Sakiko has gotten better at playing her fave song, Sakiko says it’s her mom’s fave so she practiced a lot. So next time on her bday she’ll call Mutsumi and– covers her mouth before spoiling the surprise, her dad comes home.

Soon, her mom passes away due to illness when Sakiko was in 3rd year Middle School. She goes home from her funeral, her dad says he’ll do his best as Sakiko cried.

It was after then when she sees Morfonica’s live, and has decided to make a band with Mutsumi. Sakiko then is glad that Nagasaki Soyo-san “is such a good person” then she runs into Tomori trying to catch a flower. Since then CRYCHIC was formed.

It was showned that in their live, Uika was there and had watched the performance live, and Sakiko was sad her father could not make it.

After the live she receives to messages from her dad.

“I can’t live with you anymore.”
“Sakiko, go and be happy.”

Sakiko goes home and sees her grandfather who says that her father is no longer a man of the Togawa Family. That he got scammed and lost plenty of stocks. She asks where her father was and goes to his place. He was piss drunk, and passed out and Sakiko got worried he was gone but was glad he was okay. She cleaned the house and started looking for a part-time job. Most do not allow middle schoolers so she could only do newspaper deliveries.

Tsukinomori was expensive so she tells Mutsumi she’ll stop coming to Tsukinomori. She’ll do something about her time so to not tell anyone in CRYCHIC yet. After one of her part times, she finished before practice started and she was happy Soyo messaged to ask her if she could come. She typed an apology for missing a few days, and that she could come now. Before she could send it a call from an unknown number stops her.

She had to go and bail her father out, and then notices her unsent message. She went and ended CRYCHIC with her hands.

She cried so much as she walked through the rainy roads of Ikebukuro. Back to the present day Sakiko, she stops thinking of the past and focuses on music creation.

Pan to MyGO, Tomori was arranging different shaped post its a the RiNG cafe. She said she uses it cause she can rearrange words freely. Soyo says she has unused ones at home and asks if Tomori wants them, to which Tomori says an enthusiastic “Mm!” On the other side, Anon celebrates her winning two tickets to Ave Mujica’s Budoukan live.

She invites Tomori, but Soyo says Tomori can’t do crowded places. Anon tries to convince her and Taki intervenes by refilling Tomori’s water, while telling Anon she was too loud.

Anon then tries to invite Taki, shows her a video of them, and Taki says “That’s not a band” and Anon insists “They’re a band~”

Then Anon wonders “What do I do with my extra ticket…” She then slowly looks at Soyo who annoyingly glares at her with a “Ha?”

Cut to Sakiko telling her dad she’s going, it’s Budoukan time. Her dad says she’s amazing cause she’s moving forward on her own. That she’s talented, and that she should just leave him alone. Sakiko says her mom would be sad to see her in this state, whereas he screams for her to just disappear.

She packs her stuff and leaves with the car Mutsumi was waiting at. She was worried about Budoukan, and Sakiko is just more motivated in doing better because now she has nothing but Ave Mujica.

Ave Mujica puts on their masks, and their Budoukan live begins. Nyamu has a moment with Sakiko, who tells her the script was “boring”.

The next masquerade was about finding new owners for these dolls, however, Nyamu goes off script by saying the only way to give a perfect smile is by “this” and she removes her mask.

Next she goes to Mutsumi, and removes her’s and the crowd is surprised to see Wakaba Mutsumi. In the crowd, Soyo and Anon were surprised. Next was Umiri where Nyamu says “what a disgusting face”.

Oblivionis and Doloris look at each other, Oblivionis tries to escape but Nyamu stops her by pressuring her into removing her mask as well. This surprises Anon and Soyo further, and then finally Doloris.

Sakiko shakes her head when Doloris looked at her, but she went and stood up to remove her mask anyway. The crowd roars as it was revealed Doloris was sumimi’s Misumi
Uika.

Episode 1 ends here with a preview of Episode 2.

Episode 2 starts where Episode 1 left off, but it’s more of backstage. Sakiko scolding Nyamu for what she did, Umiri leaving because she has Disruption band practice, Uika is Uika, and Mutsumi is looking traumatized.

Sakiko says that by removing the mask, she had put a problem for Uika and Sumimi and their schedules. Nyamu gives Uika a halfhearted apology and Uika says it’s okay. Nyamu said there was nothing Sakiko should be angry about. Being the fastest band to be on Budoukan was their peak and it was the perfect opportunity. Nyamu says they’re a buzz now and it’s perfect.

Mutsumi is traumatized but says nothing. Switch to Anon and Soyo. They go back from Budoukan, Anon tries to says something but she runs into someone and loses Soyo in the crowd. She texts Taki that Mutsumi and Sakiko are in Ave Mujica. Taki calls her to tell her to not tell Tomori and ends the call.

Tomori finds a cool new rock and Anon arrives at school greeting her a good morning. Tomori asks her about the concert AnoSoyo went to. Anon sweats and shrugs it off by saying it was cool. Sakiko removes an orange note on her locker, and goes to class. Soon people were talking about how Ave Mujica’s Oblivionis was Togawa-san. Sakiko is unhappy with the attention.

Anon and Tomori go to class and was stopped by classmates who told Tomori everything. Anon apologizes for lying because Taki told her not to say anything.

At Hanasakigawa, Uika is surrounded by fans saying they didn’t know she was Doloris. She said she was under contract not to. Yahata-san is missing but Taki notices her bag is still there.

From 【CM】TVアニメ「BanG Dream! Ave Mujica」

Taki finds Umiri saying “Timoris Timoris, is all they say it’s so annoying.” Then tosses her her bag, then puts her bass down near her. Umiri says Taki was the only one who found her there. Taki asked why she left Misumi-san to deal with all that, and Umiri says she should leave those to those who could deal with it.

Mutsumi looks sadly at her dead cucumber plant as Soyo approaches her. She corners her with all her anger and asks her why she would join that band and not be in a band with her? Mutsumi couldn’t say anything.

Back to MyGO at RiNG, Tomori watches Ave Mujica, Taki kicks Anon’s leg under the table and says tells her not to say. Anon said it was a big deal at school and she couldn’t prevent it. Tomori says that CRYCHIC Saki-chan was warm and called her lyrics the shout of her heart but this Saki-chan sounds like the screams of a Saki-chan she doesn’t know about. Soyo then arrives angrily with her bass, and tells everyone that she knows now that Saki-chan made the band. The production, the whole thing, and Taki looked frustated and amazed.

Shift to Ave Mujica and their meeting about their upcoming tour announced after their budoukan perf. Nyamu is frustrated she wasn’t being talked about. Umiri says because she kept on giving hints that her reveal was not surprising. Nyamu says she’s surprised that Umiri was extremely popular despite being a normie. And that if Sakiko was the only daughter of a rich family she should dress like her status. Talks about their meeting at the hotel. Sakiko drops the topic and they resume meeting. Because of the Uika reveal, she can’t accept some jobs as Doloris because of sumimi, now these have been delegates to Mutsumi. Nyamu says Muuko has the most work out of all of them.

Suddenly a “Minami-chan” calls Mutsumi and invites all of them at home. Mori Minami (CV Sawashiro Miyuki) then meets all of Ave Mujica, says long time no see to Saki-chan, to Nyamu’s surprise, learning that they were childhood friends.

Nyamu does her best to make friends with “Minami-chan” and to maybe introduce her to some producers, making some “connections”. Mjnami-chan offers them to practice at their home.

In their next interview, due to all the pressure of all the work given to her, and people asking about her mom and dad endlessly, Mutsumi accidentally says “it [ave mujica] might not continue any longer” and news of them disbanding spread like wildfire.

Nyamu got angry at her, Uika tries to defend her but it fell on deaf ears. Sakiko is frustrated at posts about them and says it was her mismanagement, then warns Mutsumi sternly about being professional in all her work. Mutsumi apologizes.

Uika apologizes to Mana (who had just started her solo debut) because even in Sumimi interviews she was asked about it. Mana says she wants to scream and say that sumimi will never disband and Uika smiles wryly. Mana halves a donut and gives it to Uika because sumimi is two souls one mind and she just smiles at her.

Uika was on her way home when she saw the blinds shut inside a room in the agency and thought she saw Sakiko. It seems that she has been sleeping in the agency since she ran away. Uika was concerned why she was sleeping there. Unable to tell her the real reason, she said she wanted to finish all the songs in time and she has no time to go home. Uika offers her house, and Sakiko hesitates. Uika pushes and wants her to live with her. She can stay as long as she wants, she doesn’t want anything in return.

They go to Uika’s house and as they enter she tells Sakiko to “stay there for 10 seconds.” Sakiko starts counting “1… 2…” and Uika peeks “Not ready yet!” and Sakiko is surprised and laughs. “I’m only at three.” (They’re so cute help).

Sakiko finds home at Uika’s loft, and Uika tells her that she just wants to be with her. Uika compliments the doll, and Sakiko says it’s her mom’s memory. Uika then looks back to when Sakiko called her, and thinks that it was the reason Sakiko asked her to make her forget everything. She then makes a comment that it was because she can’t forget her mom that’s why she’s Oblivionis. Sakiko does not confirm nor deny, but looked guilty. Uika then holds her hand and says that she wants Saki-chan to remember that she will always be by her side.

Mutsumi is drowned with work, and the first stop of their tour drops. She was late because her earlier work got pushed back. Her hands were shaking she looked dead. The night before she spent her time hugging her guitar with no sleep.

They started their stage performance then had setup into Ave Mujica (song) but Mutsumi played the wrong string and was in shock.

She suddenly fell on her chair, dropping her pick on the floor, like a lifeless doll… and everyone was shocked.

Ending song here titled “Georgette Me, Georgette You”. A ballad start that goes hard with the goth metal into the verse. Animation is of small paintings of everyone, and then the images were burned by fire.

Episode 3 this is going to be the shortest for I’ve only seen it once. Not very sure on scene sequence here.

It continues where ep 2 left off. The staff are surprised, they match the atmosphere and Sakiko adlibs that a doll with cut off strings is lifeless, left for eternal slumber.

Umiri and Uika are amazed of Mutsumi and Sakiko’s secret direction. Nyamu is frustrated that that’s all she did but it was amazing, such real raw talent. Sakiko returns and asks Mutsumi what happened, everyone was surprised that it was not scripted because it was amazing.

Mutsumi said she played the wrong chord and got surprised. Sakiko is in disbelief because Mutsumi never makes mistakes.

Cut to Sakiko and Uika in Uika’s house. Uika climbs up the loft and stands by the stairs and talks to Sakiko. She thinks that they have good popularity now, but Sakiko is frustrated and says that she can’t let the people keep on thinking that they’re that kind of band. Uika tries to change the topic by offering some donuts and drinks, but Sakiko refuses and says she still has things to do. Uika looks like a sad doggo. (Sakikooo ;_; Doggo just wants quality Saki-chan time).

At night Mutsumi can’t sleep so she goes to the practice room and hugs her guitar. Then, she was approached by a chibi/doll-looking version of her that talked to her. Soon she was in a stage script titled “Mutsumi-chan”. It tells about how she can’t speak for herself, even though back in CRYCHIC she wanted to sing but she can’t, and Tomori became vocalist. Which was why she couldn’t find band fun, at all.

She thinks she broke up CRYCHIC because she couldn’t do anything. Because when Sakiko walked through the rain while crying, she was there, umbrella in her hand, and all she could do was watch her cry, and couldn’t comfort her. She let CRYCHIC get broken up. So she’s there now, because she can’t let Sakiko fall apart.

The doll tells her that if things continued this way, she will be the first one to break, before Sakiko does. The doll then disappears.

Cut to Nyamu takes acting classes hoping to be able to pull off what Mutsumi did and found it difficult. It frustrates her that Mutsumi could do it flawless as adlib, on the spot, and she couldn’t do it without training for it. She goes home and her neighbor is actually Layer. She invites Layer for a collab and says she would only if her producer agrees.

It’s now next practice morning, Nyamu arrives for practice. She says good morning to Mutsumi who was sitting on her chair while hugging her guitar, but said nothing. She asks if she does SNS and Mutsumi answers she doesn’t. Nyamu corners her by asking why she still is in the band. The two of them could do a band–but Mutsumi cuts her off that she will not quit. When asked why, she says because Sakiko might broke.

Nyamu corners her by saying that Sakiko is very mean to her, and that she doesn’t have to stay and be treated like that the whole time. The ‘doll’ comes back and tells Mutsumi that Nyamu is right, but Mutsumi is having a dilemma. Because for her, seeing Sakiko cry like that after breaking up CRYCHIC, was her guilt. Sakiko then arrives and says to not bully Mutsumi into making her make decisions that she doesn’t want to.

Nyamu tells Sakiko that she knows she heard her, and Sakiko only glares at her. Umiri arrives, and greets them. Nyamu asks about the music show email, and if she had said yes to it. Umiri was there to discuss it. They were invited through Mori Minami’s contacts (Nyamu is grateful she actually contacted her friends), but Umiri asks Mutsumi if she would like to do it. She asks her if she read the email, she said she didn’t. It said that they would only let them on the band if they did what they did in their last live.

Sakiko says no, because to her they can’t keep making the world think they’re that kind of band. To Nyamu it’s a yes, because they have to deliver what the fans want. They argue about it, and Nyamu says to ask Mutsumi, and that she should answer for herself. She opens her mouth, then closes it.

Nyamu fights that she didn’t deny it, and Sakiko retorts by saying she didn’t say she’d do it either. They argue about this continuously. They do their next Tour stop (Sanzigen Super Arena lul), and they start to feel that the fans were disappointed that nothing like the Mutsumi acting thing happened there.

Next was Sendai, and after that performance Nyamu was arguing with Sakiko that their fans didn’t get what they want, so they were bored with it. Sakiko says that that’s not what she has planned for the band’s direction.

They were near the train platforms for this, Uika steps in (Uika in my mind: DON’T HURT MY WIFEY) and says that she won’t let Ave Mujica end, that she can’t just quite. Nyamu directs her anger at Uika because she can’t even attend some rehearsals because she was so busy. Uika looks guilty, and Sakiko retorts that if she has time checking social media she should practice her playing more.

Mutsumi is having flashbacks of the CRYCHIC disbandment, with Sakiko, Uika being Soyo, Nyamu being Taki, everything mixing with everyone’s voices.

Her mind was talking to her mind that it wasn’t gonna work, that she was right. Or that this time, she’s destroying everything again.

The train arrives, and they all stay quiet until they’ve arrived back to Tokyo. Mutsumi quietly follows around Uika and Sakiko (who now lives together) and Umiri was concerned she went with them but didn’t pry into it. Near Uika’s house, Sakiko asks Uika if she could go home first. Uika agrees reluctantly and leaves.

Sakiko asks Mutsumi how long does she plan on following them. Sakiko dumps all her frustrations at her, how she never speaks her mind, at how always makes her talk for her every single time. Before, she used to talk more, and laugh, but now it’s all making Sakiko say everything for her, and she doesn’t even try to be her ally. Sakiko says that she can’t let this band be ruined because it’s everything she has left. Sakiko runs away and leaves Mutsumi as it started raining.

Mutsumi stayed still and Uika was staying by an alley, as she heard everything, looking sad and a little bit hurt.

In the end they asked to appear on the music show offered by Mori Minami. At the live show, during the CM Amoris and Oblivionis continued to fight, and all the other guests were whispering about them. Mutsumi is back to a dilemma, she is traumatized, tired, and looks back to how she has nothing that she actually owned except for her guitar. Everything was of her dad’s or her mom’s. The ‘doll’ now revealed to be “Mortis” comes back and tells her, that she could save her. She brings her a pink umbrella (as the umbrellas were a symbol for MyGO). She said that she only has her, and that she will always be by her side.

Mutsumi tries to take her umbrella, but instead the small doll transforms into a monster and engulfs her. Once the clapper shut, and the cameras were rolling, Mutsumi started acting, saying full lines out of her find. All adlib in acting, brought to the world by “Mortis”.

Sakiko is surprised of “Mortis”‘s performance.

Ending song plays, and that’s where everything ends.

Personal thoughts here:

Really happy that Uika and Sakiko are now coinhabitating. Please continue, Sakiko, please realize that while you have Ave Mujica, you have an ally beside who has an unconditional love for you.

On the other side, I totally did not expect Mutsumi to have stage fight/trauma. The whole writing for her made it seem like she had a split personality, or an imaginary friend, or another side to her that takes over because of pressure from her surroundings. Episode 4 might be focused on her again, and we’re slowly shifting into Nyamu’s side of the story.

Can’t wait to see the rest!

Thanks for reading! 🙂
